Dog Policy
by sysawebmaster posted 08/20/2021

Scituate Youth Soccer Association

The Scituate Youth Soccer Association has implemented a new Dog Policy.

Per the Scituate Town Ordinance: Dogs are not allowed in the Tasca Soccer Complex, with the exception of service dogs. There are posted Town Ordinance Signs at Tasca Soccer Complex.

SYSA has implemented the following Dog Policy. If you bring your dog, no matter the size or kind, to Tasca Soccer Complex and a SYSA official observes the dog, SYSA Official will request you remove your dog from the Soccer Complex. If the dog is not removed immediately, SYSA will Cancel/End ALL soccer games being played at that time, no matter how much time is remaining in the game. The cancelled games will not be made up.

It is NOT SYSA Board Members responsibility to police the complex or supervise the adult parents.

IT IS SYSA Board Members responsibility to protect the players, referees, coaches, field, and follow the Town Ordinances.

Dogs have been known to get loose, have fights with other dogs, and more seriously bite people.

There are other issues that are not as serious, the effect on the field conditions i.e. what if your player fell on the field to get a face full of Dog Poop or injured him or herself to slipping on Dog Poop.

SYSA does realize the severity of this policy and how unfair it can be, but if saves one child from being bitten or injured, then we will accept the criticism.

Please leave your Dogs at Home and Let the Players play Soccer!

Thank you,

The SYSA Officers and Board of Directors
