SYSA Referee Incentive Program

 

Understanding: The SYSA Referee Incentive Program is under development, as we work through the program, concerns and issues will be address and the program may be adjusted. 

 

Goal: The overall goal of the SYSA Referee Incentive Program is to increase referee knowledge, prepare the referee for the competitive season, while increasing the SYSA referee population.

 

Focus: The focus of the program is to continue to support of referees at all levels, establish the SYSA Referee Training Program during the Fall and Spring seasons, and to annually reward, ($), all referees which achieve the all benchmarks during the training program. SYSA’s goal is to develop the best referees in the state and to establish the best referee training program in the state, as well as develop Referee skills to promote and enhance the referee’s career, while increasing the SYSA referee pool for Spring Competitive Season.

 

Benchmarks:

  • Fall Season
    • SYSA Referee completes the State Recertification Program.
    • SYSA Referee attends the Fall Referee Meeting.
    • SYSA Referee refereed games, (paid event).
      • SYSA Referees with less than 3 years’ experience must referee 8 games.
      • SYSA Referees with more than 3 years’ experience must referee 15 games.
    • SYSA Referee attends SYSA Referee Fall Training Session on Saturdays, (paid event).
  • Spring or Superliga Season
    • SYSA Referee attends the Spring Referee Meeting
    • SYSA Referee refereed games, (paid event).
      • SYSA Referees with less than 3 years’ experience must referee 8 games.
      • SYSA Referees with more than 3 years’ experience must referee 12 games.
      • Half Credit for games outside of SYSA, (proposed)
      • Accepted 80% of Scituate Invites from the Referee Coordinator, (proposed)
    • SYSA Referee attends SYSA Referee Spring Training Session, (paid event).
      • SYSA Referees with less than 3 years’ experience must attend 2 sessions.
      • SYSA Referees with more than 3 years’ experience must attend 2 sessions.
      • For 2020, the SYSA Spring Referee Training sessions are:
        • Currently under development.
        • All SYSA Referees in attendance will be paid $10 per session.

 

 

Upon completion of the Spring or Superliga Season, each Referee who has satisfied or completes all the bench marks listed above, will receive a Referee Incentive Bonus of $250.

  • No partial payments, if the referee does not ref in both seasons, not eligible for the bonus, (proposed)
